There are two songs from the record that are available on Beats Music, (which is a pretty cool service if you guys haven't tried it out yet) and they're really great. I'm so excited for the record. Initially, it seems like a similar vibe to the Sea Change sessions, which is fine with me because that is an all-time favorite!!

What bass did you use on Walking Life? Starfire? Or maybe that new Fender? Great tone and playing. The band and mixes sound great too.

Oh, and I guess I'm already getting off topic, but I've been enjoying listening to the Young The Giant record too. Nice job!!

+1 Sea Change was a masterpiece. I'll buy the CD as soon as it available. I'd like to know about the bass aspect too.

Very cool approach to this track J, great complimentary interplay against the keys and drums. Are there any other tracks with Starfire? Which about other basses? Can you share anything about your approach to the record?

    I will pre-order as well.

Thanks for the support, y'all. Means a lot, truly.

Sure, lots of Starfire action, as well as Pbasses, upright and other stuff like '64 Hofner Verythin, Club, etc.

Here's a twist of a question, JMJ... Can you enlighten a bit on the reverbs that Nigel uses, or used on this? He is a mad mad scientist with that stuff, and I want to try to get a little bit of a handle on it to accomplish some of the sounds that I have in my head.

Nigel was not involved with this record. Beck produced top to bottom, with the usual assistance from us band guys and Darrell Thorp the engineer. Reverbs are a slight trade secret, but I will tell you that we certainly made good use of the chambers at Oceanway.

Streaming it now; it's absolutely phenomenal—even better than Sea Change. My highest compliments and thanks to everyone involved.

I'm a big fan of Beck's producing. Love the sound of the Steve Malkmus - Mirror Traffic Album.
