I've just got a new Squier Vm PJ, and love everything about it other than it doesn't sound like my much loved Squier CVP.
The reason is probably the CVP has a Fralin in it :).

Ok, so the PJ is going to be my new gigging bass, and I feel it deserves the Fralin (or Fender Original 62RI that I have lying around).
I've not really had much to do with PJs before, and I'm guessing it's not quite as clear cut as changing a jazz bass set up.

The jazz pup won't get used much solo'ed, but I've been told if I get something like a model J it will have more output than the stock one, and have less noise.

So, after that rather long winded intro, my question is does anyone have any other recommendations for the jazz pup, that will work well with the Fralin or fender pup, but that doesn't cost what a Fralin costs.

    Thanks for any help/info.
