Fender just put this up on their youtube.
Another signature bass for someone I never heard of.
The Mars Volta, Pink, Veruca Salt, Moby. She's pretty big.
Yah I saw that on the googles. I'm not saying she's not talented or deserving, just that I never heard of her. Just like Chris Aiken, Mikey Way, Matt freeman Troy Sanders, and Pete Wentz. Again, nothing against any of them, just that I never heard their names till they got signature basses. I'm sure I'm not the only one that hears about a new signature Squier and goes "who?"
It's a nice bass though, and it sounds good. If it didn't have her tattoo on it and those inlays, I'd totally want one.
Same with me, I never heard of her. So are we ever going to see Squier John Lodge Signature or Andy Roarke Signature or Ron Blair Signature basses?
Think about the target demographics here, folks. Fender's gotta sell basses. If the list of folks mentioned above were people you'd heard of, their signature basses would be Fenders, not Squiers. The Squier signature series seems to target bassists who play with famous bands, not bassists that are famous in their own right.
I'm so happy Fender has chosen a woman for a new signature bass they need more and honestly it's not like Jaco is a household name either.
I had no idea of the name Matt Freeman but I did know Rancid. His Signature P Bass is one of the best trigger pulls I've made. Solid all around P.
Another P bass with some weird decal.
Not a fan of the 12th fret inlays, but otherwise I like the bass. She sounds like she knows what she's talking about and has recorded some great music.
Here's the actual link to the Bass.
I would probably have the bridge artwork removed but it has a good look, matching headstock is ok.
Is there anyone without a signature Fender/Squier bass?
Buy a stock Squier, slap on some some decals, get one of those silver liquid-ink pen and write your name on the headstoick. Voila! Your very own sig bass.
Jazz nut width for those who like that sort of thing.
Is this the most expensive Squier Fender have released? ($400 USD)
Just you, i think
They should make more black P basses with no significant features apart from cosmetic--paint or inlay.
Do you think if they sold more variety of colors they would sell more basses?
Mars Volta is good.
She was married to Frank Sinatra and acted in a lot of movies. Night of the Iguana comes to mind. I didn't know she played bass.
Separate names with a comma.
