    Hey folks,

Steve here. Brand new bass player, though I have played guitar for closing in on 10 years. Just got a Squier VM Jaguar short scale for Christmas. I know basically nothing at all about bass, but sure enjoy making a little thump noise.

I also got Rocksmith 2014 for Christmas so may use that, along with a few video beginner bass lessons to get started. Still shopping for a bass amp, and for now will play at house volumes through my old Fender Concert. Anyways, Hello!!

Thats a good lookin bass you got there.

Do your best to play like a bass player, not a guitar player who plays the bass.

Thanks! I really like the vintage Samsonite I am using for a case. It was fun to put together and works great. Plus I can access my inner Eddy Vedder as he uses vintage suitcases from thrift stores to haul band stuff around, play lists, music notes, etc.

Yep. I actually live in Hailey, a few miles south, but work and play in Ketchum and SV. I was up on the hill today giving an all day private lesson. Other than skiing, I am a lawyer and a Dad, and like to make music when I have time.

Thanks to all you rest too! i look forward to learning how to use this thing as an addition to my guitar/music addiction. I am selling the djembe I got for Christmas last year as this bass will become my main percussive outlet instead.

    Welcome to TB!

Those are cool basses. I actually have a identical one for sale locally.

If you look in the "Basses" forum for the SS Jaguar Club, you'll see some astonishing mods that have been done to their Jags.
