Nilsson - Jump Into the Fire

    I'm not sure this is the appropriate section for this thread, but it is to my best guess. Mods, please move it if necessary.

    I am a fan of Harry Nilsson and believe he is extremely underrated. Anyway, I was just listening to "Jump Into the Fire" and I happened to notice that the bass tone on that track is just sick. Does anyone know 1) what type of bass is being played and 2) who is playing it? Love the tone.

    I can't remember the bassist's name, and don't know the type of bass, but he's grabbing the tuner and de-tuning while playing that solo. Then he tunes it back up at the end.

    I agree, it's pretty awesome.

    Herbie Flowers played on that record IIRCC.

    Just googling pics, he seems to lean toward the fender jazz.
