So basically, I may have a bit more spare cash after taxes than I assumed, and I'm starting to have fewer excuses for not getting one. Specwise, basic woods, passive electronics, 34 inch scale, 19mm bridge. Bolt on is fine. Just need to get a flat fingerboard, small frets, and a ramp. Good setup. I would also prefer it somewhat on the light side. Punchy finger style tone with some growlly mids. Oh, and good evenness across all the strings tonally of course, and a solid B.

Any suggestions? Im looking on the budget side of the spectrum (2000ish..), and am aware of Cliff Bordwell, Stambaugh, and Hanewinckel close to that, but would welcome other suggestions as I'm not up to date on many of the newer builders.

Cheers, and I apologize for the terse manner of writing. Tablets tend to encourage Newspeak for me..

Thanks Roy. Looks like I'm not overwhelmed with options, hehe. Maybe that's a good thing though. Listened to a few Prats on YouTube, sound great.

Big +1. His basses are predominantly passive, Nordstrand pickups, bolt-on, and very reasonably priced.

I'd message Tom Clement for all the specifications you mentioned. Nordstrand Big Singles, V/V/T. I have one of my Tom Clement 6's for sale though it is tighter spacing, and active.

Most comfortable neck I've ever played on a 6, only rivaled by the 5 string he built for me most recently.

Just got this beauty from Cliff Bordwell, [IMG]

32" scale, Nordstrand big singles, walnut body. Very anxious to get it, curious about the scale length and pickups. It was a return or something, so great deal. Think its been on TB before, curious if anybody is familiar with it.
