Alright, lets just say somehow some dedicated four string guy agreed to help a beginning latin/latin pop/latin hip-hop act with some tracks and some They have a Sterling Ray35 they got secondhand from "some funk guy" which seems to be fitted with very light steels.

Is said anonymous four banger going to need to replace the strings? If he did anyhow what would be a good place to start. Type of string? Gauge? This is all new territory.

I can't recommend a specific string because I am a paying vendor on this site. But if I had a gig like that I would want a string that has a full bottom and punchy mids, but not too much high end twang just enough to cut through. Can be mellow when you want it to. Is a nickel iron alloy and has windings that are not fully round so they produce less fingernoise. These are the strings I mainly used when I was giving that kind of vibe in Miami.
