Very nice rig
Sub'd - and here's my Bassman.
Here is my Bassman 100. May I have a number?
Got one recently!
I only have pictures of it pulled out, will upload a better one when I get back to the jam space again! Running it at 8 ohms with Ampeg 410he cab, contemplating moving to 4 ohm but wondering if it would make a difference?
Is that a 50 watt head and therefore doesn't have an impedance selector? If so, you will get a bit more volume running it at 4 ohms. Not much though, so if you're happy with the Ampeg cab, I'd stick with that.
100 watt, it's the bassman 100. Tried through a 210 and 410.... It sucked! Fuzzed out and blah! Pulled back to the 410 only and clear and loud enough again.
Greetings from the North,
Presenting a Fender Super Bassman 300 and a 1974 412 Bassman cab that I've had since new. Sign me up Sir......
I didn't know there was a Bassman club.
My practice amp is this Bassman 60 that I keep upstairs in a guest bedroom.
My current main rig is this Bassman 400 over a Bassman 115.
Hey fellow Bassmanites. I've been looking to get just a tad but more headroom and output from my SF 100, so I started reading around and trying some stuff out. Here's what's working for me:
1) Someone somewhere suggested pulling the gain/tone tube of the other channel if you aren't using it. That supposedly frees up some current. Check, V2 out. I think I noticed a bump...
2) I did some tube swapping in V1 down to 12AU7, then T and Y. The U and Y had too little gain for the passive tone stack. Very quiet. The T however sounds great.
3) Then I looked to the PI 12AT7, thinking that could be a bottleneck. Threw in a 12AU7 and that did the trick. Breakup happens much more smoothly. Doesn't just up and fart anymore.
4) Oh yeah and picked up an NV412. So that helps.
Thank you for that!
I just bought Coronado3's SF Bassman 100, and have been looking at cheap/easy ways to boost headroom.
Sure. It's ever so slightly louder. I also set the EQ low, at 4 or less for bass and treble, which is a huge dB loss with the passive tone stack, so the mids aren't too scooped.
Sorry for the delay I've been meaning to do this for a while now...
But hopefully this will bring us up to date.
Let me know if there needs to be a correction.
Welcome to the club.....
THE OFFICIAL FENDER BASSMAN CLUB
Here's the last few:
100. NOLA bass
Remember if you want a number.....
Please post pic....it's a requirement....
Do you really think we should just take your word for a number to such a highly distinguished club?
Hello, I've been a Bassman guy since 1973. Went thru a long stretch without one but everything's good Bassman-wise again.
My Bassman Ten is my favorite practice amp for bass.
Tone-wise, how would you compare the ten to your AB165.
Finally, a photo:
I pulled my 300PRO and 810 out for gig this past weekend! Lots of compliments in between sets from the crowd and the band I was setting in with loved it.
