Ohio Players is one of my favorite bands of that genre. I spent many hours listening to them. 'Skin Tight', 'Foppin', and 'Far East Mississippi' are killer tunes.

When I was 14 years old my band used to butcher "Fire" but it was so much fun to play we didn't care. Loved the Ohio Players! RIP, Sugarfoot.

Sad news. I grew up in a small town about 20 miles from Dayton, Ohio and loved listening to Ohio Players in the '70s. At the time, I had no idea they were from Dayton.

Lots of great funk bands came out of Dayton and Cincinnati. They are opening the "Land of Funk Museum and Hall of Fame" in Dayton later this year. I can't wait to check it out.

    RIP, Sugarfoot!
