Looking at the G&L Tribute L2000 (I fell in love with the Blueburst color :p) and I was just making sure it's a good instrument for a few certain styles of music, and the best I can get for the price. I'll mainly be covering/maybe making originals in the style of:

    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Rage Against The Machine
    Black Sabbath

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations around this price, partially to make sure it's the right one for me, and also because it's not in stock for a month and I'm impatient :p

Are you buying used from the classifieds?

  4. Do it. Those are incredibly nice basses. Love the blue burst and maple neck too.

The only one who can tell you if it's the right bass for you is you. Play it and see if it works for you. Any bass can be used for any type of music. If it feels good and sounds good to you, then it's the right bass. G&L makes quality basses, so it should serve you well.
  9. G&L basses sound great. I think you'll find it can suit those styles well. I had an ASAT and played in a punk band. I wish I didn't sell it, great bass.
