I wonder if anyone could help me diagnose a problem before I visit a tech? When turning the volume control to full there is a sudden jump in volume and most of the tone in the signal disappears, tone control operates as normal, and bass sounds great a half volume.. This is a standard MIA fender P.

    what does that mean?

also, usually your best sound from a passive P will be with the volume knob on "10".

Solved! Unbelievably the problem was 2 faulty guitar leads of the same brand bought at the same time. Performed 250v insulation resistance test on them and it was a fail. Switched out leads for another brand and all fine:bassist:
