Can anyone tell me if a Dimarzio Ultra Jass pup would be compatible with a duncan SPB-3 1/4 pounder? I want to get a side by side split coil. Really tired on the hum fron the 1/4 lb j pup.

Compatible in what sense? Tonal preference is subjective, and blendability is important to some, but not others.

I totally understand - if the QPs sound great, you don't want to change them, but I have really grown fond of p/j set up- of p pick up rolled off a tad for a good bite/bark tone that cuts through - so I like that the balance of the set.
