Passive bass boost, like "DubPlate" but DIY?

    Anyone have any experience with a passive bass boost? I want to add it to the tone pot of my Squire VM Bass VI to add a little boom.

    Here's the video where I learned about this particular idea:

    I'd like to find out a way to make one myself. I've read that you can't really boost without power, only attenuate. Any ideas?
