"Paul Jackon's the baddest cat I've ever seen." - Chuck Rainey. That's about all the endorsement one can get.

Jackson and Mike Clark are up there with Rocco and Garibaldi as one of the best rhythm sections ever.

major influence, i love the headhunters (with herbie and without). precision with rounds, who knew it could be so funky?

  5. Paul Jackson is one my heroes on the bass. Like shrimp said, what he does goes beyond chops. Just an incredibly bad ass approach to the bass.

Paul is the MAN!! One of my biggest influences ever. Those old headhunters records (even before Herbie) are insane!

  8. Which albums do you mean? I don't understand.

Love me some Paul Jackson and Headhunters! Anyone know anything about this bass he's rocking in the video posted by the OP?

Looks like one of those sweet 70s Mocha (or walnut, or whatever it was officially called) Fender Precisions with a maple neck. It's in a lot of the Headhunters videos from that era. Think he ended up giving it to Rocco Prestia? It's awesome anyway :)
