I did a search and didn't see anything about the new Phase 99 so I'll share with you guys.

Seems cool if you're into phasers and sounds and sh**.

    That's pretty wild. I have a phase 100 I like to use.

PS the guy at Guitar Center said expect it in 2-3 months in the $160 range. I can't confirm or deny the truthiness of that however.

  5. Wow. Can't wait to hear clips of this on bass !

That thing looks pretty cool. The regular Phase 90 sounds great with bass and if this does as well (which I imagine it should) I expect I'll be trading in my trusty old Phase 90 for one.

I've had a really good play with this pedal.
In short it's a really cool pedal with plenty of options.
You can run the two circuits in parallel or series and it sounds just awesome!

  8. What ?!? It's already available ??

Anyone who has had experience with this pedal: Does it have the same mid boost and volume jump at the Phase 90, or did they realize that those were bad ideas?

I've read on the gear page forum that it has a volume boost, as described by the users. Some have even returned it because of this. Oh well, nothing touches my Phase 100 :)

Yeah apparently AnalogMan does a mod where he adds an internal volume pot to battle this. To be honest though on my script Phase 90, I never noticed the volume boost. I love the sound of it on bass.

Thanks....the volume boost on the Phase 90 is part of what has me looking elsewhere.

If I may suggest, MXR Phase 100 is a great phaser. I'm a bit biased because it's my favorite phaser (on bass at least), but I notice no volume jump with it, and it works really great in the band mix. It also offers more subtle phase tones with the intensity knob. I used to have Phase 90 and the volume jump on it started bothering me.

    Juan sold me on 100:

Besides the volume issue, I also prefer the tone of 100. Really really nice syrupy liquidy tone.

Ok, you may have sold me on the Phase 100. I've been looking at the offerings from Subdecay and Mr. Black, but this is cheaper and may solve my problems. My board is crowded, so I'd rather have the smaller footprint, but I'll find a way to make it work.

And if I decide it's not for me, the classifieds await!

    Edit: Bought one...

I've only had a few minutes to play around with it, but so far I'm really liking it:
    -No volume boost
    -no mid boost
    -no phase reversal

It's more subtle than I would have expected, but I'm also running it in one loop of a parallel blender, so I need to play around with the balance between the levels to get something that adds the flavor, but doesn't overpower.

I guess it all depends on how prominent effect you need. The first setting is perfect for me when I want full out phase tone. Definitely not subtle with a fuzz. I also run a boost pedal always on and it does make my other effects pop out more.
