Lift with your knees! Preferably with an assistant!

Believe it or not, the 8B is the dicey one, you have to lift it over your head.

My church is very accomodating, I'd rather "store" the amps there than in the garage at home.

We've had several TalkBass GTG's at the church building, some very nifty bass equipment has "rung the halls" of the sanctuary!

Here's the info on the rechargeable battery you can use for the Double Four, straight off Phil's Facebook page.

For those in the club that haven't friended him on FB, I highly encourage you do so. Phil's a great guy who is extremely passionate about good sound.

"There a few battery powered bass amps that are truly portable and sound good, most use dry cell batteries and put out only 1 to 3 watts!!! The BG75 is 70 watts and sounds like nothing you ever heard before from this size. It is tiny weighs about 8 pounds and fits in a back pack. The rechargeable battery pack is a 19v lithium ion external computer battery and will power cell phones and computers as well as this amp. Cost is about $90 from Amazon.com. Comparing the sound using this or the AC power supply there is NO difference and it will last around 2 hours of playing time. The battery pack charges up with the BG75 universal power supply ( works on any AC voltage worldwide). So if you travel a lot and you need to play bass ( or guitar coz it sounds god for that too), then you should get one!
The bass in the picture is a custom Ken Lawrence, there just to give you a clue for size."

I'm interested in the Super Flightcase. What kind of volume level can I expect with one??

Someone else will have to report in from a different perspective, but the Super Flightcase works nicely with an upright in jazz trio and worship settings. I think someone else chimed in that the extension cab is needed for loud settings that include a drummer, but YMMV.

95% of the time I'm using an amp for practice (low volume), lowish volume gigs with no PA, or loud gigs with PA/DI support and the amp as a monitor or for some low end feel at my feet. My endgame was definitely one of these + the matching powered extension cab.
