Photoshop mockup of a Cabronita P that I would like to make

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Strat Hater, Jan 24, 2014.

  1. If I do it, it will most likely be a Squier Cabronita with a VM jazz neck and a second pickup with a 51 Fender control plate modded for the 3rd control. I think it would be sweet.

    How about you?

  2. I think the alignment could be changed a bit, but I like it. :)

  4. Yeah I know, but I never had the right router bit in my version of photoshop! :D

This was only a quick 10 min job to see what it looked like, and I like it!

  5. I think it's that the control plate is touching the pickguard. lol

  6. If you look at the 51 the pickguard is cut so the control plate can lay there. That is what I was thinking any ways :)

  7. It looks cool. But, I'd keep the control plate from touching or cutting into the pg.

I love it I would love it even more with no guard or control plate.

I'd put the neck pickup in the traditional P sweet spot, otherwise I dig what you're going for.

I built a "kinda-sorta-similar" bass a few years back. Here are a couple pics...they might help you visualize the end product...
