    Bat Signal for Mr. Ogle!

    I have a P-Select that I love.
However, I'm thinking of changing the pickguard.
Here's the bass. I'll attach the two guards I'm thinking about in my next post.

With that burst, I'd seriously consider black.

Seconded. Black on burst with a maple neck is the bees knees.

Thirded. Black with the maple neck and burst body would be my choice, too.

That DOES look good... and I'm not really a fan of black pickguards, as it reminds me of a few 70's Fenders that I'd like to forget.

But that one works. The black doesn't draw attention from the beautiful figuring in the wood.

    Thanks everyone.
The black really does bring out the grain of the wood.
I'm starting to think the pearloid types look better on bodies with solid colors.
