This promising little beauty ought to have a thread of its own. 25" scale, dual humbuckers, fully adjustable bridge, fretted or fretless - looks very interesting.

And I believe rosewood or maple as well. I'm all in.

From the shape of it (and guessing its dimensions), I'll bet it will fit into a Les Paul guitar case.

I've loved the concept of a "microbass" since I got my first Guild Ashbory in the '90s so I was very interested in this bass but my interest got the better of me and I caved and cobbled together a microbass with steel strings of my own from a guitar so I'm going to pass for now, but I will read with great interest any posts here.

What gauge strings are used with the Picco Microbass?

    Same here.
    Cool little Bass.

  13. There's a YouTube video within the website, but the track sounds highly processed. I/we would greatly enjoy a pure demonstration of someone sitting down with this bass.

I don't think that's audio off the bass, just a backing track for the text and pictures. I too would appreciate an actual sample.

I'm sorry if anyone thought that soundtrack was the bass.
That was not the intention. I will go add a comment about that.

Those following along via newsletters know that audio of the bass is forthcoming and will be uploaded to YouTube as a separate video.

    Very sorry for the confusion.

Frank, do you know if the new LaBella 25" scale tape wounds will fit on the new bass?

I don't know if anything will change before they come to market, but the test strings I had my hands on - did not fit.
Having said that, there May be tapes specifically for the Picco Bass. TBD.

For the start, the initial strings will be excellent, custom nickel strings.

    Why didn't they fit?

Length. Picco Stealth is 25.5. That plus length difference from different bridges, and - it was too short.
