Which pickup positioning do you think I should use??
Note: Bass will have a mahogany body, cherry top, wenge/mahogany/ovangkol NT neck, and a snakewood fingerboard.

Well, I like the JB, MM and PB best. But, you dont really give much background, perhaps you have some particulars? i.e. whats the context?

As in what music will this bass be used for?? I play mostly hard rock/progressive rock, with some jazz on the side.

I voted MM. I quite like the MM tone for hard progressive rock. Although a jazz bass can also not be beat, but thats done to death..

Although I do really like the sound of 1 humbucker and a single coil.

My favorite pickup tone of all time is a P bass pickup in the MM sweet spot. I made a bass with that configuration once and so regret selling it.

Im geting pickups custom-made (kind of like Rickenbacker horseshoe, but noiseless and slightly overwound ).
Im just talking about the spacing, Ive already decided on the pickups.
By "Mudbucker" I meant putting a pickup right at the end of the fretboard.
