pickups in Steinberger Spirit look like reagular guitar humbuckers

    Those aren't the stock pick-ups.

    Doesn't necessarily sound bad. One of my bandmates' favorite bass is one I outfitted with pickups and electronics pulled from a $200 Epiphone guitar starter pack I was upgrading.

    No reason to assume the bass sounds bad, it's coils with magnetic fields. It may sound bad, it may sound awesome. One way to find out!

    Mustangs and Musicmasters were designed with 6-pole guitar pickups. Just saying.

    There's a really good chance that those pickups are the most valuable part of the bass.

    Of course the bass pickups in a real Steinberger look just like guitar pickups too, so....
