I've seen a few players post pics holding their 1st bass (think the classic pic of Jaco proudly holding his new 66' Jazz in front of his house) and thought it would be cool to see your similar pics. Maybe you only have a 'live' shot, but if you have the "new proud owner" shot, the pic that was taken the day you got it - that is preferable.

The pic of me and my new 64' T-bird II that I'm posting unfortunately wasn't my 1st bass, (the 4th?) but was taken w/an SX-70 camera the day I received it in 1978. I don't have a pic of me and my 1st bass - cameras weren't invented yet :p

My first bass was a Harmony P bass, given to me by an uncle. There are some pics, but it's pre-digital camera days and i don't own a scanner.

Here's the first bass i bought on my own, a '95 Ibanez ATK300 that i bought in 2000.

Here's a pic from a show on tour in 2001, in St. Louis:

I'd call this my first real bass. I had a short-scale bass-like-object before that. I'm thinking this is from about '89 or so. I was a pup. Note the Kasino SnakeEyes goodness in the back resting on a lovely matching sparkle-flake 215. Oh Ya!!
