I'm currently in the market for a Squier VM jazz in CAR. I would just stick with the black guard and I love Geddy's before he put the PG on, anyone have a picture of just a red guard (no tort)? I would just ditch the pickguard but I'm pretty sure the squire has a body in which you have to have a PG on it. :help:

Don't be so sure. I have the VM fretless jazz which comes with no guard, so it's possible that all these VM Jazzes coming from the same factory are all using the same bodies without the huge ugly routes that need to be covered.

That Squier is gonna have a big, nasty route up in it.

I've been really into red guitars with red/brown/orange tort pickguards since I saw an infomercial with Peter Frampton playing a CAR/tort Strat about a year ago.

edit: So it's not CAR, another non-metallic red. Damn good look, either way.
