    This is the same reason why a 15 inch speaker is preferred over 10's.

    Well, duh... value/efficiency would be determined by area rather than diameter. Same reason a 1 1/2" fire hose can deliver waaaaay more more water than two 3/4" garden hoses, despite the fact it's only twice the diameter.
