Technically it was a Fathom 2x12
Combo and it was a seriously killer amp. Huge, blazingly loud and super aggressive. Gonna have one sooner than later.

Gorgeous sounding amp. As far as combo's go, this one is one of the best.

Anyone able to compare the tone/volume of the combo vs the head and a mesa 2x12 cab?

I'm not sure there is any difference between the combo and the head/cab rig. The cab dimensions are slightly different, as well as speaker spacing.
I have a Carbine M6 212 combo, and it is HUGE sounding! I add a PH115 to it for gigs.
I have not turned the volume above 25% for practice or gigs; I don't even mic it.

    It only gets "better."

You are playing the very type of amp that in two minutes got me to fully abandon my "Crest CA6/CA9 power amp + good tube pre-amp are the only SERIOUS amplification" mission. Now of course, the suitcase nuke M9 is my new ardent amp faith, LOL. :p :p :p
