    I emailed Fender. This was the reply I received from Jeff Bielke:

    "The Jazz Bass 24 was run originally from 07/2005-11/2008 out of Korea. Then a five string variety was run 01/2007-11/2008, also out of Korea.

    Can you show some more pics?? I always thought those basses were pretty sharp and they werent an arm and a leg either for having active circuitry. ..

    Yeah, I came really close to picking one of these up a couple of months ago. It was in the used section of the Guitar Center site. Had them ship it to the store in my area. Went and checked it out, but it had something odd about the neck. Don't know what it was, nothing visible. Couldn't put my finger on it. It needed a setup, but it didn't seem to be a setup away from righteousness. That one just didn't feel good in my hands. It is the only Fender I've picked up and said, "Ewww!" Like the looks, like the sound, didn't like the feel. I really wanted to take it home.

    Well, this one is awesome. If you want to try to work something out, let me know. I am giving this until Friday and pulling it so I don't have to worry about selling it...haha.
