I'm putting together a Warmoth shorty. I already have the neck, but I can't for the life of me pull the trigger on the body. I've narrowed it down to these two:

TB... think for me. Which one?

    Sonic Blue w/ white binding?
Tru-Oiled maple top with black binding?

Thanks for getting things set off, DH.

What if that sonic blue was given the Darkhorse style light relic treatment?

All done in GIMP. I used to do graphics for a living, but that was many years ago.

    :)

I think it'd look great either way .... super cool. I like the relics though ;)

Hey, does Warmoth make a slab body for short scale, or are you sourcing it elsewhere ?

Lemme add that I need the binding because I have an unnatural love for mahogany bodies. So no matter what the core wood is mahogany and the back will be oiled til it holds the light of a thousand suns.

No, they have a standard shorty p with the 1/2 inch edge route. I'm doing the binding to help get that slab look and to keep the back nekkid. I was quoted $45 for the 3/16 edge route if I wanted to go that way. They really are super helpful... if you want to pay. :p

Right? That's what makes it so hard. But, that blue on a Cab body is too much to resist....

In that case, definitely the blue. I've always liked a finished top+binding with a naked back.

Looks like the popular opinion is going with maple, however...

Maybe combine both. Get the maple top with a transparent finish of your choice (but preferably blue, because blue is sexy), and then binding with a naked back.

    I'm giving myself GAS.

I was thinking just the opposite. Sonic blue w/ black would look killer. But if the back and sides are natural then a maple top would look best, IMHO. Having said that, can't go too wrong either way.

I've got a slab body, double pearloid bound, semi hollow build in the works. Those pics sure test my patients.:p

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. :)

That being said, I agree that either choice is going to be sweet.

My new answer to this poll is officially...
