Post pictures of basses that aren't quite normal. Ones that are obviously very different in styling or some other aspect. Then tell us as much about it as you know.

If you think the picture might be taken down then attach the pic as an attachment for posterity's sake. Maybe we can get a bunch of pics like the ones that used to be on bunny bass.

You can list production basses like for instance the ovation basses from the 70s come to mind, and some might consider the some custom builds to be exotic.

Let's get a nice thread of weird basses going. I will get us started.

Also, let's keep it real. Don't be bashing on the basses.

This one is a mystery thus far, but it was what inspired this thread.

Here is a Yamaha from the 70s. I believe it is a SB-5a.

Look at these ovation Magnums. Notice the EQ section on the middle one. They made 4 versions of these basses in the 70s. 2 different styling and 2 different eq sections. They were the Magnum I, II, III, and IV.

I played one of those a year or so ago, and it was brutally heavy. But sometimes heavy basses sound great. How are yours in the weight department?

Mine is pretty heavy. They made them from heavy ass mahogany and didn't cut down on size or thickness anywhere

Where is that one bass that has the huge fender headstock as the body and then a tiny body as the headstock?

Here's the cigar box bass I built for myself. So far, it's the only bass I've seen with googley eyes.
