Anyone can give me some advise on a rack mounted pre amp for a double bass? I run it through a gk 480 watt amp through a swr 2x10 cab.

I think most of the players on the DB side of Talkbass are more concerned with audio fidelity than form-factor. I for one can't think of a rack mounted preamp that would sound good with double bass.

What pickup are you using? I'm not sure the GK or SWR will give you the most desirable sound for DB but we work with what we have.

Yeah. I dunno what the pickup is. It is a passive one the sits on the bridge. But I can't afford an amp just for it :(

    Sam,
You could use either of these small preamps, and insert them into the effects loop. That way you have a second pre to connect your DB pickup to.
