Curious, is there anyone out there that can cobble this together?

I'm thinking about purchasing a bass that has 2 MM style humbuckers and depending on how I feel about the tone I may want to swap them out.

The width is different, width being where the p bass p.u's are together is wider by 7 or 8 mm if I remeber. The width across the string is closer.A doudle MM set up is a pretty good thing imo

I'm not so much talking about taking a standard P pickup and putting it inside an MM case as I am talking about a person or company who makes pickups creating a split-coil humbucker that will fit in one.

Or I could just wire up a really crazy wiring scheme to get more tonal options, like:

    Coil 4 only
    Coil 3 only
Coils 3&4 only (neck pickup only), series
Coils 3&4 only (neck pickup only), parallel
Each pickup in series, together in series
Each pickup in parallel, together in series
Each pickup in series, together in parallel
Each pickup in parallel, together in parallel
    Coils 2&3 only, series
    Coils 2&3 only, parallel
Coils 1&2 only (bridge pickup only), series
Coils 1&2 only (bridge pickup only), parallel
    Coil 2 only
    Coil 1 only

Villex's MusicMan shaped pickup is actually a split-coil inside, as are the soapbar pickups.
