I love it, whether you like Prince or not. He does things his way, I like that.

That's nice, especially since he's usually known for very high prices ($360 for seated places at the montreux jazz festival last year, 3 nights in a row)

That's about 5$ more than i'd pay to see him play his post 2000 stuff.

  6. He just had a run of concerts for $20 a pop about two years ago.

I can see why a person might say that - but have you heard Lotusflow3r?

Quirky dude, Prince. I wonder what goes on in his head. Dig the ?uestlove hair, too.

Maybe I am one of those rare people, but I would pay $10 bucks to see Prince in a heart beat. I happen to think he is a great musician.

Prince is one of those guys where you may or may not like his recordings (Raspberry Beret?!) but when you see him play live, you understand more viscerally what a rare talent he is. I don't think it's necessary to like Prince's music to enjoy a Prince show.

    $10? Absolutely.

That's a better deal than the $112 Joe Mamabama ticket thread.

I remember paying $50-$60 to see Prince in 1996 and that was the most expensive price I had ever paid for a concert ticket. It was well worth it. Even today, there are only a handful of bands/artists I would pay $100 to see. Prince is one of them.

+1 He's very talented, and always brings a top-notch band. At $10 it sounds like a bargain.

I saw price a few years back and he played all his hits. Amazing show. He even played Eruption on an acoustic guitar during an acoustic medley.

Super talented guy.... But he really is COMPLETELY bonkers.

I saw him a few years ago here in Denver, my two tickets came in the mail accompanied by two original copies of his latest CD. But he played songs spanning his entire recorded history, not just the recent or obscure tunes.

And here's a guy who usually gives you a couple hours of entertainment.

Bravo to the man. I hope more entertainers of his stature follow suit.
So many bands that I would go see price me right out of going.

I am really conflicted about seeing him. While I acknowledge he is a musical genius (or was at one time) and in the past has had many really great songs, I think a lot of his recent stuff is pretty bad. I also have to couple this with his poor treatment of his employees and his ever increasing excentricites.

Prince is an absolute genius I've been a fan since his early MN days but his battle with record labels and fans over the years have unfortunately driven some away if you get a chance to see him live do so you will walk away in awe I can guarantee that.

Pepsi Center, right? The stage was in the round, so people on all sides had good seats. I was at that show too. Really killer.

Yep! It was amazing. I'd only seen him live on TV before then, but even on TV his rare talent and entertainment dazzle is on full display. In person, it's mind-boggling.

People who think Bruno Mars can channel James Brown should go to a Prince show.
