    I agree the danger is high and Russia is a mess, but that writer is putting (Putin?) the cart before the horse .

    Quite a number of the Canadian & US NHL hockey players are concerned about safety in Russia. As a result, many of them aren't bringing their families.

    I don't think the Olympics should be awarded to the Russias & Chinas of the world - countries with appalling human rights standards.

    I know the Olympics aren't supposed to be about politics. But please..

    But couldn't the same threat of terror be said to exist in the US? I know it was a big concern in the UK prior to the Olympics, which fortunately passed without incident.

    Russia is a whole different kettle of fish compared to the UK or USA.
