    Custom 6 string Jazz bass by R.M. Mottola. VG condition, cherry wood body with active 9v Carvin electronics and pickups. Bolt on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Massive lows with sparkling highs. Strung with round wound strings. One of a kind. $700+shipping CONUS. Trades for 5 string basses considered.

    Well, given that 3.4cm is about 1.3 inches, that would be very narrow.

    According to what little I've been able to find about Mr. Mottola, he was an "experimental luthier" who apparently worked for or was associated with The American Association Of Luthiers. This bass has a wide range of sound possibilities.

    Cherry wood is one of my favorite tone woods. Have 3 basses made of it. Someone is going to get a pretty cool bass with this one.

    Describing as best you can, what popular body wood does the cherry compare to? Ash, alder, mahogany? I gotta big-ass hunk of cherry, that's EXTREMELY figured, too.

    Oh, what's the string-spacing, btw?

    Offhand I'd say mahogany might be close. look at the photos and you'll see the measurements
