Hey guys, haven't been around here much but I have an old cheap bass (my first) that I'd like to make into a bit of refinishing project. I meant to do it last year, it's already been stripped and its ready to go, but now I feel like I want to do something a bit more artsy with it and have fun with some cool design or something. I love Rush, King Crimson (Court, Larks' Tongues, and Discipline-Three of a Perfect Pair eras mostly), and Yes (earlier 70's era), and was thinking of incorporating a theme from an album or something, but I'm stuck. You guys are all pretty creative people, so could you throw some suggestions my way please and thanks? I'm pretty good at drawing/painting so a hand painted design would be no problem, it doesn't have to look professional, just cool for me.

Right now I'm thinking of doing something like the Three of a Perfect Pair bass that Tony Levin had for King Crimson in Japan, or a Time Machine (Rush) sort of design, but I'd like some other ideas. Thanks everyone!:help::bassist::D

Here's the Levin bass, painted like the Three of a Perfect Pair cover. I like the idea.
