Custom Musikraft 1966 Replica Precision Bass Neck
Includes Relic'd Fender RI Reverse Tuners, Tree & Hootenanny Button

I ordered this neck custom to 1966 specs from Musikraft. Then it was finished, relic'd and the hardware relic'd by Mark Jenny (MJT Guitars). It's 100% period correct for '66, but I did order the nut at 1 5/8" because all the Fender '50s and '60s reissue necks have 1 3/4" nuts, and I wanted this to be different than what else is available out there.. and a "B" neck was a custom option in '66 so it's still "correct".. and a little easier to play too (for most).

    • Rock maple with curved/laminated rosewood board
    • 7.25" Radius
    • Med-jumbo frets (first used by Fender in early '66)
    • Pearl dots
    • Pearl side dots, split 1/2 way between the rosewood and the maple.
    • Thin "C" profile - .83 x .92"
    • 1964-68 Fender "block" decal

On the back of the neck, I had MJT take the finish down to bare wood, stain it dark grey like old wood looks, and then overspray it with clear coat (like a lot of people do with vintage necks that got played a lot). It looks awesome and feels great too.

The neck is straight as an arrow and the truss rod works perfectly, although I haven't even began to turn it yet because it hasn't been necessary. It had the perfect amount of relief with the GHS Precision flats I was using on it. It's less than a year old. It'll set up and play perfectly with very low action. NO issues whatsoever. The frets have no wear as I only used flats on it, and has maybe 30 hours of playing time on it, if that. I'm selling it because I recently bought a vintage 1961 Precision neck, and just swapped that one onto the body I was using with this neck.

NOTE: I also have a set of Gotoh GBR640 lightweight reverse tuners (also relic'd by MJT), which I will swap out with these (pictured) Fender RI tuners at no extra charge. The Gotohs turn a little smoother, they're a little lighter, and they mount flush against the headstock, but I'll give the buyer the choice.

I'm also wiling to sell the neck unloaded for $100 less.

All in all, I have about $725 into this loaded neck - between the custom Musikraft order, the RI tuners and tree, the custom finish and relicing by MJT (including relicing the hardware), and the '66 repro decal.

    Updated original post..
Buyer gets their choice of the (pictured) relic'd Fender RI tuners, or relic'd Gotoh GBR640 lightweight tuners.

I know, it seems like last year was just yesterday! ;)

Also, I might be into trading for something of equal value, so let me know what you have! Just please don't be offended if I pass. Can't hurt to ask though!

I'd go $100 less for the unloaded neck.
