I'm really interested in getting one of those sweet black Hofner Ignitions, but I think the white pickguard kinda ruins the look.
I couldn't really find any videos or links detailing removal of the pickguard.
Could someone link me with some instructions, pictures, etc..

    cheers

Very straight forward! Just look for the screws. It's been years since I took the pick guard off of mine, but simply unscrew the two or three screws carefully so you don't nick the finish. It is that simple. Put the guard, the rubber grommet and the screws in a bag to not lose them and you are done.

Thanks. Do you happen to have any photos of yours? Is there any yukky holes or anything on the front?
    Cheers

There's one screw hole left over on the front and one on the side. They're not that bad though.

There will be 2 holes on the front of the bass (one next to the bridge pickup and one near the neck) and one hole on the lower side (for the metal part). I agree that the screw holes do not look bad. I took the pg off of mine (a sunburst) and have ignored the holes. If you remain concerned, find black screws or something else to put in the holes.

I don't think four bumps without a reply is impatient.
But what I meant is a photo of a black one without the pickguard.

Just take the guard off, see how it looks, it's a symmetrical bass, so it'll look the same as the other side.
It's a very easy process, I could do it in under 90 seconds.

    He doesn't have one yet.
4 bumps in two days, especially weekend days which aren't high-traffick days, is a bit excessive. Maybe someone will have a picture today. The black model is much less popular than the sunburst so not too many people have it.
