I have an old Starfire coming in tomorrow that's had the tuners swapped for stupidly heavy Schallers. I'd love to put some Hipshot Ultralites on this, which I love anyway and will solve the neck dive issue.

    I know I need 2x2, but what size? 1/2", 3/8", or neither?

    Thanks!

Wait until you get the bass.

Remove one tuner, and measure the hole.

That's the ONLY way to know what you need (assuming all four are alike).
