I still can't quite believe my eyes.

I was admiring the Bassmods K6 bass in sunburst and how it merges vintage Jazz Bass ideas with the modernity of the six strings and the soapbar pickups, then I started wondering if there was a Rickenbacker like that, as I love the Ric look and Ric sound.

And lookie what I found...

I'm not sure if it's sacrilegious or awesome. But I knew Talkbass had to know. And the only other thread I could find dated back to 2011 and the link in the OP had 404'd. I could go for one in the classic JetGlo or a burgundy like Cliff Burton's bass.

I was expecting some unbearable monstrosity but...that looks like a really beautiful instrument. Would love to hear it!

I heard back from the maker. He still has it, won't make another, will let it go for "5000". I'm assuming that's pounds, considering he's in the UK. That makes it...$8241.

It's one of my dreams to get a custom 6-string Ric copy made for me by somebody... and I'll get it one day.

Absolutely beautiful. I think the rainbow silks are also a really nice touch.

That's nice! Is there a 5 string version?

I bet the guys who made the 6 can make a 5 or a 4.

I contacted the maker, and it doesn't sound like he's interested. He said he isn't going to make another 6er, to be fair, but I don't think Bassurgery is an extant company.

That bass is sweet! I bet you could find another builder that could make something similar, but it may cost you....

Considering this bass costs $8,231, the price from another builder can only be better.

I imagine sourcing that bridge is like, half the cost. LOL
