    It looks like a Ric to me this is where feedback comes into play and the person has perfect feedback with eBay to back you up and with six days to go it won't stay at that price.

    It sure looks like a real 4003 to me.

    i say its real, but im leaning that its a 4001. nice bass

    I have a '94 4003 in JetGlo. It is pictured in recent posts of mine.

    I'm have heard from several knowledgable Ric folk that at some point in the late 80's or so through 1996
    the upper horn gradually became chunkier.
    After 1996 the horn reverted to the thinner shape that Rics had since the earliest 4001s. CNC body shaping began at this point?
    The bass pictured here has that thicker upper horn.
    That to me is an indication that points in the direction that it's a genuine Rickenbacker.
    I think the thicker horn aspect makes Rics of this era special.
    Not more valuable or better sounding. Just unique.

    I predict that the price of that bass will be bid up quickly in the final hours to reflect the strong market for clean unmolested 4003s.

    You never really know what will happen on eBay. I put in a sure losing bid on a '98 in Fireglo, and nobody else bid on it. If anybody had bid what I expected it to go for, then I wouldn't have a Ric. The price may or may not double from what it was when I took a look. Maybe black is in more demand than red.

    The auction says "purchased new in 1996".
    Nice condition '90s 4003, needs a bit of a polish.

    Seller has 377 transactions and 100 % positive.
    I wouldn't hesitate to bid on it if I were in the market of one of these.

    Definitely real. Definitely a 4003.
