Hi everyone. I really like Rob Trujillo's tone! Its KILLER! So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for me to get closer to his sound in this video of his solo at the beginning of For Whom The Bell Tolls:

    Any Ideas? Thanks! :)

Don't know if I'm right, but I hear something like a "bass balls" buried under the distorsion...
Maybe signature Trujillo string by Dunlop can help

P bass with flats through a passive DI, it's so obvious.

A load of distortion on that tone, for sure. And don't forget the clank!!

Big muff and wah, no? Seems pretty obvious....that's what every Metallica bassist has done.

I think some of that tone is the fact he plays extremely hard. Some of that tone is his hands for sure.
