Recently picked this up, but found a newer bass that I think I am going to like better, so LIFO (last in, first out).

Listed at $1600 shipped within North America, will not ship outside of North America. Trades limited to Spector 4 strings of comparable value.

Here's an early Sadowsky Metro Modern 5-24 in '59 burst with rosewood FB. Serial number in the 1000s, so I believe it puts it in the 2004-5 timeframe as to build date.

Here are the specs, Sadowsky style

    SERIAL: M1109
    FINISH: '59 Burst
    BODY: Alder
    NECK: Maple
FINGERBOARD: Pau Ferro/Bolivian Rosewood, 24 frets, 1.81" Width at nut, 19mm spacing at bridge
    HARDWARE: Chrome
    PICKUPS: Sadowsky Soapbars (humbucking)
PREAMP: Sadowsky Preamp with Vintage Tone Control
    STRINGS: Sadowsky Flats 45-130
    STRAPLOCKS: Dunlop
    WEIGHT: 8 lbs 12 oz
Comes with the standard Sadowsky soft/hard case

The condition is what's politely called a "player" bass, meaning it has had its share of bumps and bruises, wear and tear, scratches on the front and back of the poly finish, but nothing that goes thru to the wood, and nothing that affects playability. Pots have been recently deoxed and all electronics work good as new.

When I received it, the finish on the neck was slightly worn, and it bugged me. So I decided to sand the back of the neck down to the bare wood and refinished it with an oil/wax finish using Howards Feed & Wax. If you are familiar with oil/wax finishes, that will give you an idea of how it feels now, which is a very comfy neck from top to bottom.

Overall condition I would rate at 8.5 out of 10, and I believe the asking price reflects that.
