    • Sadowsky Standard 5
    • Dark Cherryburst
    • Ash body (non-routed)
    • Quilted Maple top
    • Maple fingerboard - vintage tint
    • Single coils
    • ~8.5 lbs

This is a great example of the much coveted late 90's Sadowsky era. This bass has a big and round tone that sits perfectly in the mix. The low end through the open B string is everything these basses are known for.

The bass has been played and has a few dings but has plenty of fret life left. Don't wait on this one -- It's as good as it gets.

$3300 shipped in the lower 48.

No trades except Alleva KBP/LG/LM5s, MTD 535, Fodera 5/6 (+/-$).

Luckily, not a divorce sale! I'm just freeing up some cash for a few home reno projects. I have a few basses for sale but I think I'm only going to sell whichever two go first.

Sweet bass and great seller I wouldn't sell my 94 standard which looks almost identical (avatar bass) for anything!

Sorry -- Not sure how I missed including that important part of the spec. Just added it now.

    It's Ash.

    Really nice Sadowsky!

I know that this is a "for sale" ad but I have a question if I may.

You mention that the late 90's Sadowoskys are highly coveted. I wasn't aware of that. I have a '97 JJ 5 ash maple and there is magic in that bass. I contacted Kevin several years back to get the rundown on it since I was the second owner. He told me that my Sadowsky was the very first one that had the new type of pickups when they changed from the EMGs. I love all of my Sadowskys but this particular one sounds noticeably way different in a very magical way. It's a plain-jane ash/maple sunburst but it just blows me away with what it has going on. So I do agree that the late 90's seems to have something special. Sorry for the side track.:)

Back to normal discussion in the ad...Bump for a killer bass!

I have a 90's Fodera Monarch that I just got back from the factory. They refinished the bass and installed the brand new mike pope pre-amp. I've had this bass 20yrs, and it plays and looks great. I'm looking for something a bit different these days. I'm borrowing a Sadowsky 24 that I like. Maybe we could work something out? I'm looking for $5300, if it was a straight sale.

Thanks Skip. I'm more of a five string player unfortunately...

In any case, this one is on hold now. ;:bassist:
