OK Latin Fans, I need some good info on Salvador Cuevas, please forgive me if I did not spell his name right. I would like some suggestions of what CD's I should get to hear his funky style of Salsa/Latin bass playing. I have been told to check him out with the Fania Alstars, but wich ones?
    Thanks and God Bless
    Scott

    Hi all,

Here are a couple more suggestions.

Celia Cruz Ray Barretto "Ritmo en el Corazon"
    For something more recent:
    Gilberto Santa-Rosa "Intenso"

Sal Cuevas is an all time great. check out the tune Tumbao Africano from the Ray Barrettto album Rican/Struction, it pretty well sums up his mighty presence. If anyone has transcription of his basslines to share I'd love to see them. I'm working on a transcription of the above tune right now and I'll happily share it when I'm done.
