    Hey,

I'm looking to build a bass from the ground, essentially.
I have a p-bass for a body, but intend on changing out all the other parts for and personally customized equipment made by me.

Right now, i want to build an amazing beast of a bass with astounding tone control, playability, and beauty.

For the pick ups I realize that every little detail of how the pick-ups are built is a variable in the process to the overall sound quality of the pick-up in the end. I'm trying to determine what the best type of magnetic material that can be used for the magnetic rods within precision pick up builds?

    Samarium-Cobalt
    Alnico
    Ceramic
    Neodymium

These are the materials I've found that could be used, thus far. Any suggestions?
