Sell-off: Brubaker MJX-5, Carvin BB75, SX Essex fretless

    Selling a number of my basses to downsize the collection!

    1) Relist: Carvin Bunny Brunel 5-string

    Late 90's BB75. Great playing bass that has been customized, played and gigged

    34" scale, 19mm bridge spacing, 1.75- inch nut, 8 lbs, 13 oz

    Wood: Maple neck with swamp ash (I think) wings and curly maple top and matching headstock. Ebony fingerboard with dark stickers currently covering the offset dots (easily removed)

    Electronics: Dual humbuckers from a Fernandes Tremor. I wrapped some red vinyl tape around the pickups because I'm not a fan of exposed pole pieces. Single toggle to switch both pickups from humbucker to single coil mode (outside coils, hum cancelling when pan is centered). Stock Carvin Preamp - vol (pull for passive), pan, bass, mid, tre, 9 volts.

    The sound in humbucker mode is huge. The slanted neck pickup makes for a pretty convincing P-bass sound. 7.5 out of 10 condition, plenty of small dings and bumps. Routing around the humbuckers is a not as clean as I would have liked but not noticeable from a few feet away.

    $450 (or $600 with SGD Neo humbuckers installed) Shipped in CONUS with a gig bag. SOLD

    2) Brubaker Brute MJX-5

    34" scale, 19mm bridge spacing, 1.75- inch nut, 9 lbs, 3 oz

    Electronics: Stock pickups, stock preamp with an upgraded volume pot with push/pull to bypass the preamp.

    Changed the hardware to all back including strap lock buttons. 8 out of 10 condition for minor nicks and scratches on mostly on the back of the the body

    $425 Shipped o.b.o in CONUS with a nice Brubaker gig bag. SOLD

    Update on the Carvin BB75: I originally had a pair of SGD M5 Neo pickups installed in this bass. After sending them back to SGD for testing over a year ago (!), I finally got them back. If the currently installed pickups are not your thing, I'll install the SGD Neo humbuckers for an extra $150.

    Here's an older picture to give you an idea of what it looks like with the SGD pickups installed.
