Before I mosey over to the classifieds in search of some LaBella flats, figured I'd drop in here first and get some information.

I have just acquired a 1964 P bass neck with a fairly shallow profile
I like a non floppy feel and would probably want to go with a heavier gauge string but don't want to compromise the neck.

If this was a more substantial neck I wouldn't be concerned but I want to be sure It will take the higher tension with no permanent adverse effects.

Do 60's Precisions not have adjustable truss rods?

They do and I would not hesitate to put the heavier strings on the beefy necked 1962 I once had but wanted reassurance that messing with something like the 1954 set is ok even for the far less beefy neck I have.
Maybe this is a question better addressed to the strings forum.
