It's sort of a rhetorical question since I think this looks ridiculously amazing :)

2012 Jade Pearl Metallic American Precision. Added aged pearl pick-guard and will be adding all the covers this weekend. All genuine Fender, of course.

It has such a retro look, almost ugly as hell but on the borderline of very interesting / retro. Kind of like my great grandmothers kitchen scheme that I remember from being like 5 in the 80s.

    Thoughts?

Looks awesome. makes me think of some custom color special order from the 60's. The tug bar looks a little off position-wise though, maybe it's just me. It might look better without it.

    Thanks!!

That tug bar was just placed for the pic these aren't the right spots yet. Tug bar comes with a template, actually. Was possibly considering a chrome one? Fender does make one...may look tacky though.

And yea exactly, looks like some Custom Shop shiz! Wow 34 bucks really brought this bass alive! I always realized the potential in this color once I saw it in person - it has a vague gold metallic sheen to it which looks really "rich" but nothing else about the stock MIA p-bass adds anything to complement the color - so it looks really plain stock, especially in pictures but in person it comes alive much more.

I think covers look great, but I don't always like playing wth them. They're not for everybody. You could always do a trial run with some double sided tape before drilling to make sure you're going to even want to keep them on there. It would be a bummer to drill holes and then find out that the covers get in the way.

Those covers look great but i for me they jsut always got in my way and limited the tones i can dig out from the instrument.

Bass looks great though, love that Color, now all you need is a matchign Mustang.

Do it, looks nice. IMO covers holes in a Fender does not affect the resale value so you have nothing to lose.

yea i do not mind if there are holes if i decide to take the pickup cover off...MIA P-bass will not likely go up in value anyway for like 50 years and by then ill be dead probably - it's just for me to enjoy :) What I will make sure is that everything is measured perfectly and precisely drilled.

Love the seafoam color and the pearloid. I like the pu covers on 51-56 Ps and Teles, not so much the later ones but that's just me. What about white pu housings?

Looks great, but I absolutely hate playing with covers.

Do it if you like the covers and are going to keep the bass IMO....

Why not get another cover drilled properly for your bass?

Covers can be an adjustment..but once you adjust they are like an additional tone control. Want Jamersonesque tone play in front on the guard...want Harrisesque tone play behind the guard

    As for looks...guards own imho
