I was just going to boil up a can of soup for a late snack and I noticed the wife brought home some bagels.

I haven't had a bagel in three weeks or more. My choices of spread if I decide to have one are butter or Philly "chive" cream cheese.

My soup selection is Progresso. I'm pondering the watered down split pea (for some reason NO HAM) or the watered down, yet ever popular "lentil".

I'd go with the split pea. Save the carby stuff for the am.

But I have trouble ingesting in the am :(

Is there a good medical reason why I should hold off on the late night carb intake?

Only if its from St Viateur in Montreal....otherwise you are merely having a bagel shaped piece of bread.

Progresso soup is awful. And too salty. No bueno.

Do most of them live in Canada? I was under the impression that my NY bagels were the finest water pretzels this side of the St.Lawrence.

Rock the bagel with the chive spread. Just eat around the hole and you'll be fine. :ninja:

But how will I stabilize the crusty mass around the hole as I consume? Maybe I have something in my basement....

Now I have to buy a 40 to take a pic for proof. I tried using a 24oz can of Molson, but I broke four and a half bagels:(

I went to eat a bagel this morning, they were stale. Be careful.

I didn't even bother to check. I was using my "grabber" to fetch them from the cupboard and just slamming empty beer cans into their garlic encrusted orifices on the counter top.

    Might explain the crumbs...

If you build a jig, you could use a hole saw to remove the crusty part around the bagel's hole. If you have a drill press, just clamp the bagel in place and use the same hole saw.

Unless you're in New York or New Jersey, it's not REALLY a bagel. Save the carbs and move on.

If you ARE in Jersey... who are you kidding? Eat the bagel!!!

    Pics? :p

You could always try to make a mixture of crumbs and cream cheese and just spackle that darn hole shut. You use enough and it will work.
