Thinning the arsenal a little and don't really have a need for this bass anymore. It appears to be a early version of Pete Skjold's work, with an East preamp retrofitted by Pete. I traded for it from a former bass instructor, who had Pete do a once-over and restring it. It delivers some nice, clean tones with lots of flexibility. Comes with a TKL soft case.

    Approximate data for the bass:

    String spacing: 17.5mm (11/16")
    Nut Width: 2 1/8"
Weight: about 8-9 lbs. according to my bathroom scale
Profile: It's flat, but I don't have an exact number.

Price is $2,000 plus shipping. Sorry, no trades. I have too much gear as it is.

I played this bass at Pete's shop when he lived in the Dallas area. It was a great bass - very articulate, slightly Marcusy because of the maple/ash combo.

If you're looking for a versatile 6-string, this would be a fun choise.

That's a beauty. Skjold 6's don't show up in the TB Classifieds often.

Thanks, guys. There are several reasons why I'm selling this. Primarily, I'm upgrading my stereo system with a McIntosh receiver and so I need to raise some cash. Second, I mainly play double bass nowadays and have three other electric basses (two Lulls and an '86 Ric 4003). I really don't need four electric basses, much less a 6-string, so it's become expendable to me.

I used to own this one - if I had the slightest need for a 6-string I'd buy it back in a heartbeat. Very articulate bass with the magic Skjold mojo, sits GREAT in a mix!

What is the string spacing at the bridge? How much does it weigh? What is the nut width? Any insight on the neck profile?

I have essentially the same bass, I believe made a batch or two earlier than this one. It's a truly fantastic, comfortable, lightweight instrument. Highly recommended, especially at this price point.
