Yo tb, i get circle k strings in/through the mail, usually the mailman
rings the bell and hands em over. this time he jammed them in the mailbox. question is, the e (mostly) and a string are a bit bent.
    are they garbage?

I usually bend strings if I decide to cut them... there shouldn't be a problem I think if you can't see that the core is loose!

they are kinda just bowed, there is not a sharp kink.

I had a set of strings around that got bent at one point, from sitting oddly in a drawer, and I just bent it back. So long as it's a slight bend and not bad enough to qualify as a kink, it should be okay.

There is something to be said about experience and attention to detail. Carl has that in spades.

We (the Artist Rep and I) got to meet him back in October, when we toured the Lakland factory. Very cool guy (and actually, EVERYONE at Lakland is cool).
